CURRENT PROJECT
For the next 3 years, Healy Stars has accepted the monumental challenge to moderize and update the computers at Healy Elementary. Year 1 (2025/2026 Walkathon) would focus on the Annex Library and it's 35 computers
(monitors plus desktop towers) which will cost at a minimum of $20,000. This would ensure our K-8 students have the updated technology they need to develop essential digital literacy skills.
Mr. Chorr, Healy's IT Director, is helping to ensure Healy's students will be getting exactly what they need.
Gym Phase 2 Complete!
Healy Stars is proud to announce the completion of 3 new volleyball systems which includes nets, poles, and installation for both the main gym and the Annex. Though the cost of the volleyball system did end up being higher than anticipated due to environmental drilling procedures that needed to be taken place once it was discovered that there was a dirt floor beneath the gym floor, Healy Stars was able to cover the cost from their limited reserve fund.

Gym Phase 1 Complete!
Healy Stars is proud to annouce the purchase new gym equipment including wall mats an HVAC netting in the Annex Gym! We are already hearing reports of less injuries from running into walls and less equipment being lost in the ducts. Thank you to all who donated to our Walk-a-thon!

Everybody Dance Now
Healy's events will be a bit more lively from now on! We are happy to report the purchase of a new portable sound system that will be used for Back to School events, dances, School Picnics, and anything in between.

Places Everyone!
We are pleased to announce that the auditorium stage is now set to welcome Healy's young performers! This year the stage's curtains went from drab, torn and holey to ready for the curtain call! Thank you to everyone who donated towards our Walk-a-thon!

Blinds are completed!
After x years, Healy Stars is proud to annouce that every classroom is now outfitted with window blinds! Not only will this help with glare and light management but also help with classroom temperature management especially in the warmer months. Thank you all not only with your patience as we chipped away at this big project but also for helping us achieve our goal through your donations!

Reccuring Projects
Here is just a sampling of some of the smaller projects we fund during the school year
8th Grade Celebrations
Healy Stars works closely with the 8th Grade Team at Healy to support in fundraising activities throughout the year. Together, we use these funds to help cover the cost of transportation to Graduation celebrations, awards ceremony details and party, 8th grade class gift, support items during the 8th grade learning excuration to D.C./Boston, and other items deemed necessary by the 8th grade team and administration.
Ensemble Concessions
During Healy Elementary's Ensemble performances, such as the Spring Musical and Veteran's Day performance, Healy Stars will purchase items to sell at a concession stand. The proceeds from the concession stand then go to Ensemble to be used towards their expenses- sometimes that is props or even musical scores!
Sports Referee Fees
We all know that public school funding is tight and we do what we can to make activities accessible to everyone. That is why we help cover some of the cost of referee fees for Healy's volleyball, boy's basketball, and girl's basketball programs through donations and concession stand purchases.
Teacher Appreciation Lunch
The teachers and staff at Healy have a passion for their students and we love to show our appreciation to their dedication! Every May we host a lunch in their honor as a "Thank You" for raising up the next generation of leaders.

Holiday Baskets
Each December Healy Stars has been able to provide food boxes to 25 Healy families to use over the winter break. Classrooms help spread holiday cheer by decorating the boxes. Healy Stars has also recently received donations from Costco, Trader Joes, and Aldi to help cover the cost of these boxes by donating food items. Thank you!
Volunteering our Time
We know some people say time is money, but we know our ability to serve our Healy community is priceless. From helping with Picture Day to Dental Exams, Vision Screenings and Spring Dances, Lunar New Year lunch to Bookfair and everything in between; we answer the call for volunteer support by Healy Elementary staff.
